Barcelo Maya Palace Reviews....

  
The Barcelo Maya Palace is an all inclusive family friendly resort located about 1.5 hours ride south of Cancun airport. It's situated basically between the popular town of Playa Del Carmen and the picturesque ruins of Tulum in the area known as Puerto Aventuras.

Vacationkids Sally Black and Suzie Sturm have both visited the Barcelo Maya Palace and have returned with rave reviews as do all of our returning vacationkids clients.

Stay here and play at all 5 family friendly resorts that share this Barcelo resort complex. Enjoy upscale suite accommodations, over 20 delicious restaurants, 10 pools, water parks and plenty of fun. This resort is great choice for families who want space and lots of choices.

One of the many features that makes this property unique is the nightly entertainment. Barcelo is known for the quality of it's talented entertainers and activity staff.

Another stand-out feature of the Barcelo Maya Palace is the beach here.  As you can see  from the upper right photo on this page, this airplane view illustrates how this resort sits in a protected cove.  The rocky out croppings help to break the waves making it a protected beach for little swimmers.  This is one of the few area resorts that offers excellent swimming AND excellent snorkeling right off shore.

If there are any down sides to this resort or considerations parents need to make it would be....

- This is a HUGE resort complex! There are shuttle trains to help transport guests around. It is fairly stroller friendly but we don't really recommend it for anyone who has mobility issues. Be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes.

- Speaking of packing shoes, bring water shoes too. The beach here is over a mile long. There are sandy swim areas but some areas are rocky too.
